St. Joseph’s Home of St. Teresa
Blessed Maria Teresa founded many St. Joseph’s Home since 1891. When she arrived in the New World (America) in 1912, she opened the First St. Joseph’s Home in South Pierce Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
In 1916 she opened a home in Wauwatosa, a suburb of Milwaukee, which became the Carmelite Home for Boys and adjacent to it is the Sisters’ convent which became the American Motherhouse and the Center of Formation.
Mother Foundress designated this home as the place of formation where young candidates, postulants, and novices are formed into Brides of Christ.
The young sister will experience her common life of prayer, daily community life and exposure to the various apostolic works in serving God and the Church.
