sharing our vocation stories with young people

We recently had the honor of attending Holy Mass (and listening to the joyful noise) when we traveled to Kenosha, Wisconsin to share our vocation stories with a group of young people.

Sister Annunciata, who has been a professed Carmelite Sister for 16 years, began by introducing each of us, and then shared her vocation story. I was proud that she represented Carmelite Sisters D.C.J. with poise and confidence. I think she gave the young people there a nice image of Religious people.

A priest, deacon and brother also shared their vocation stories. In their own way, each one of them encouraged the young people who were listening to consider the ways they might serve God. Their zeal of loving God showed in their words and actions!

The young people were then encouraged to write down questions that they had concerning Religious life. These questions were answered by our Novice Sisters Margaret Mary and Ann Marie. The priest, deacon and brother also answered questions.

With Sister Annunciata acting as our chauffeur, our day away included a late-night stop for supper before we returned safely home to East Chicago around midnight. Amen.
